The Panhellenic Council understands that joining a sorority can be a financial burden and is actively striving to make Greek life at Tufts a more inclusive place for all. We want every woman identifying person to be able to partake in this community if they please regardless of race, sexuality, disability, socioeconomic status, citizenship, religion, etc. This includes transparency about dues! Therefore, we have provided a breakdown of what each chapters dues will be this year and what is included in it.

What are Dues?

Dues are the membership fees that are paid to your sorority each semester. They are used to pay for a variety of aspects of sorority life including but not limited to: management costs, national fees, house taxes, insurance, conferences, sisterhood events, philanthropy events, social events, bid day, recruitment, formals, retreats, t-shirts, etc.

Alpha Phi:

Alpha Phi is an all inclusive sorority meaning you will not have to pay additional money out of pocket to partake in sisterhood events, philanthropy, formals, t-shirts/apparel, etc.

Chapter Financial Aid/ Scholarships available:

  • Payment Plan- Allows members to pay their dues in three installments one month apart throughout the semester.

  • Alpha Phi Zeta Theta Scholarship Fund- Alpha Phi set up the scholarship fund in the Fall of 2017. Since then, they have awarded a total of $1,914 to members who needed assistance paying dues. Typically able to work something out to meet each member’s needs so that finances are never a barrier to being involved.

Chi Omega:

Chi Omega requires chapter members to donate to the chapter’s philanthropy events(usually by purchasing a ticket) and t-shirts for homecoming/spring fling are not included in dues but optional for all chapter members.

Chapter Financial Aid/ Scholarships available:

  • Payment Plan- Allows members to pay their dues in three installments one month apart throughout the semester.

  • One member will receive a partial scholarship based on need so long as they are in good standing.

Kappa Alpha Theta:

Kappa Alpha Theta is an all inclusive sorority meaning you will not have to pay additional money out of pocket to partake in sisterhood events, philanthropy, formals, t-shirts/apparel, etc.

Chapter Financial Aid/ Scholarships available:

  • Payment Plan- Allows members to pay their dues in three installments one month apart throughout the semester.

  • Kappa Alpha Theta is currently working on an alumni scholarship to help alleviate the costs of being a Theta. However; in the mean time no one should be rid of the opportunity to join due to financial reasons and the financial committee is happy to answer any questions or help!
